Accountability of elected officials, an end to wasteful spending, policies that would help our members and better training of local officials to better represent you.
Strategic Contract Preparation
As we gear up for future negotiations with the commonwealth, we will continue the practice of soliciting members input through use of email.
We will also establish town hall style meetings so that members can directly voice their priorities for the next contract cycle.
Expanding Training Programs
Continued professional development is invaluable. We will continue with local training practices. We will also be inviting members of the American Arbitration Association to hold seminars for our local officials to give them insight on how arbitrators formulate rulings.
Financial Stewardship
We are committed to continuing to be good financial stewards of your
union dues. We will continue to look for ways to cut spending, be more efficient and create guard rails on spending practices. We have cut your dues three times during our tenure. It is our intention to continue to cut dues whenever possible.
Policy Evolution
We will look to refine existing policies and introduce new ones, such as wellness programs and additional legal protections for members that have been wrongfully persecuted by management.
Community and Public Relations
We will work to enhance public relations and public outreach by establishing fundraising and volunteer work for local nonprofit organizations. Having the support of the local community will help foster awareness and promote our honorable profession.
Legislative priorities
We will continue to strengthen relationships in the legislature to foster a
better understanding among its members and shed light on the unique challenges and responsibilities that come with this profession-not only for the individual members but for their families that often share sacrifices.
Staff Wellness
We will collaborate with experts in mental and professional wellness to
provide our members with the tools they need to manage the stresses of our profession.
